This type was struck in 1942 at Santiago. Uruguayan coinage was sporadic in the twentieth century and many issues are rare; this one is common. The previous issue of 1930 (KM 26) was was 5 g, 0.800 fine. The other issue of 1942 was a silver one peso (KM 30).
Recorded mintage: 18,000,000.
Specification: 3 g, 0.720 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, 19 mm diameter.
