Sincona sale 80, lot 5269

The first specimen was lot 5389 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$831 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Uri, 4 Batzen 1811. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Canton of Uri, four batzen of 1811. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"

The second specimen was lot 5269 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 495 CHF (about US$593 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Uri, 4 Batzen 1811, Bern. Gerippter Rand [gripped edge]. Rare. Only 3,510 pieces struck. About uncirculated." This rare issue was accompanied by a rappen, half, one and two batzen, all from 1811.

Recorded mintage: 3,510.
