This specimen was lot 2396 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$1,088 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "USA, 5 Dollars 1899, Philadelphia. Liberty head type. NGC MS64." The coronet head half eagle was struck 1839-1907 with the "IN GOD WE TRUST" motto added in 1866. Philadelphia participated in production nearly every year with most of its issues being common.
