United States 1892 dollar

The Morgan type was struck 1878-1904 and 1921, with the Philadelphia mint usually producing the largest number each year. However, the 1892 begins a run of scarce dates for 1892-95, both because of reduced bullion supply and the Panic of 1893 throwing the country into an economic downturn.

Recorded mintage: 1,037,245 including 1,245 proofs. a better date.

Specification: 26.73 g, 0.900 fine silver, .773 troy oz ASW, 38.1 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by George Morgan.
