This specimen was lot 2772 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Tuscany. F[i]orino, 1847. Leopold II. Obverse die lines. Brilliant original mint luster and choice. NGC graded MS-64." This type is listed for 1843-48 and 1856-58. These obscure little Italian states coins don't catalog for much but are very difficult to find. The fiorino, originally a gold coin equal to a ducat, was in the nineteenth century one quarter of a francescone, the Tuscan equivalent of a piastra.
Recorded mintage: 76,373.
Specification: 6.98 g, 0.917 fine silver, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: Gig-39, KM-C72a; Pagani-135.
