Leopold II 5 Paoli (1/2 Francescone) 1827 MS64 PCGS. Rare type, quite covetable at this state of preservation. Blessed with beautiful cabinet patination in the interiors that comes alight with original luster still clinging to the flan. Just two examples across PCGS and NGC rank higher." This type is listed for 1827-29. These obscure little Italian states coins don't catalog for much but are very difficult to find. The five paoli was one half of a francescone, the Tuscan equivalent of a piastra.
