This specimen was lot 71304 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Tuscany. Francescone (10 Paoli), 1765. Francesco III. PCGS AU-53. A well struck and wholesome coin, lightly worn just on the high points, and endowed with pleasing dark gray toning throughout. A few spots of luster are visible in the protected areas." This type is listed for 1765 only and is inexpensive for an Italian crown. It is very similar to the previous 1763 francescone. He was originally duke of Lorraine but was evicted by the French and given Tuscany as compensation, the native Medici having gone extinct.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
