This specimen was lot 1739 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $309.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "TUSCANY: Francesco III, as Emperor Francis I, 1746-1765, AR ½ francescone, 1764, tiny obverse rim nick, some luster, Choice VF." This from a type struck 1746, 1756, 1758, 1763-64. Francis was the husband of Maria Theresia of Austria and Holy Roman Emperor. He was originally duke of Lorraine but was evicted by the French and given Tuscany as compensation, the native Medici having gone extinct.
