This specimen was lot 1264 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 4,000 CHF (about US$4,855 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALY | Toskana. Ferdinando II. de Medici, 1621-1670. Piastra 1628, Firenze. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS61. (Italy, grand duchy of Tuscany, Ferdinand II de Medici, 1621-70, piastra of 1628, Florence mint. Rare, especially in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1620-28 and, like most Italian crowns of the period, is rare.
