This specimen was lot 71705 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS. 100 Crowns, 1975. PCGS MS-68. Mintage: The Age of Exploration issue. A rather brilliant example, offering a charming, light yellow hue radiating throughout." Another scarce NCLT from a forgotten corner of the Caribbean. Several other issues from 1974-79 used a larger module of 18.02 g.
Recorded mintage: 756 plus 1,508 proofs.
Specification: 12.44 g, 0.500 fine gold.
