This specimen was lot 31850 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Islamic Dynasties: Ottoman Empire. Selim I (AH 918-926 / AD 1512-1520) gold Sultani AH 924 (AD 1518/9) AU Details (Obverse Cleaned) NGC, Damascus mint (in Syria). Free of serious striking weakness and minted on a slightly egg-shaped flan, the noted cleaning comparatively mild and non-distracting. On the whole an appreciable representative of this very rare type."
