This specimen was lot 2391 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 10 para, Kostantiniye, AH1223 year 4, a fantastic quality example! PCGS graded MS65." This type of years 3-14 is from Mahmud's second issue. The ten para of the first issue weighed 2.8-3.2 grams and the third issue was only 1.6-1.8 grams. The frequent debasements, the result of military defeats at the hands of Russia, deranged the economy.

Catalog reference: KM-559.
