This specimen was lot 39770 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. Ottoman Empire. 1/4 Zeri Mahbub, AH 1223 Year 3 (1810). Mahmud II. PCGS MS-62." This type was struck years 1-5 and is not expensive. Most are holed, perhaps having been removed from the costumes of belly dancers. While Steve Album calls this a quarter sultani or quarter findik, we feel compelled to follow the nomenclature used in the SCWC and Friedberg.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 0.75-0.79 g, gold.
Catalog reference: Fr-88; KM-605.
