This specimen was lot 1895 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mustafa III, 1757-1774, AR kurush, Islambul, AH1171 year 1, without rosette right of toughra, a pleasant mint state example, PCGS graded MS61, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." The auctioneers catalogued this as KM 320, a fairly common type struck years 1-4, but we think it's actually the much rarer KM 319, as borne out by the eye-popping price realized.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specifications: 18.4-19.9 g, billon.
Catalog reference: KM-319.
