Sincona sale 59, lot 2315

This specimen was lot 2315 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"OSMANISCHES REICH | Mahmûd II. 1223-1255 H./1808-1839 AD, 1 Altin (Neuer Mahmûdîya Altin) 1223 H./Jahr 28, Qustantînîya (Konstantinopel/Istanbul). Tughra mit 'adlî und Streublumen in Blätterkreis, Rv. Mzst. und Jahr des Regierungsanfangs, oben Regierungsjahr mit Streublumen im Blätterkreis. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Turkey, Mahmud II, 1808-39, gold new altin of AH 1223, year 28, Constantinople mint. Uncirculated, Beautiful condition.)"

This type was struck years 26-32 and superseded the hayriye altin and the adli altin. This type is not listed as expensive.
