This specimen was lot 34302 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $396. The catalog description[1] noted, "Islamic Dynasties: Ottoman Empire. Mahmud II gold Rumi Altin AH 1223 Year 15 (1821/1822) MS66 PCGS, Constantinople mint (in Turkey). A remarkably high grade for a usually poorly preserved and holed type, with hardly the slightest waviness to the flan." This type was struck years 9-15. For year 15 we also note a zeri mahbub (KM 610), quarter surre altin (KM 619 and KM 623), half surre altin (KM 620 and KM 624), surre altin (KM 621 and KM 625) and other ephemeral gold coins.
