This type was issued AH 1380-1418. Tunisia gained independence from France in 1956, and began, in 1960, to issue coins as a Republic. The French script was removed from the coins, with only the numbers and dual dates remaining in their Western form. This type was issued in 1960, 1993-97 and 2004-2011.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.5 g, brass, 19 mm diameter.
