This specimen was lot 216 in Sincona sale 31 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 575 CHF (about US$683 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH PROTECTORATE | Reign of Muhammed al-Hadi Bey (1320-1324ah/1902-1906ce) 50 centimes 1903ce/1321ah AR R Fdc." All the dates of this type, struck 1903-06 in Paris, are rare.

Recorded mintage: 1,003.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .066 troy oz ASW, this specimen 2.49 g.
