Transylvania 1760 ducat Fr-543
This specimen was lot 1624 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,531 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Dukat 1760, Karlsburg. GOLD. Min. Kratzer, fast vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1760, Karlsburg mint. Minor scratches, about extremely fine.)"
This ducat was struck in Transylvania 1746-65, during the early part of the reign of Maria Theresia. After the death of her husband, Francis I, in 1765, a veiled bust (Fr-544) was used.
