This specimen was lot 42122 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Danish India. Tranquebar. Cash, ND (1620). Christian IV. PCGS AU-58." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. This lead cash was struck in over four dozen varieties during the reign of Christian IV (died 1648). The reverse lettering is intended to read, "St. ANNA."
