This specimen was lot 75743 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "TIMOR. 10 Avos, 1945. Lisbon Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. A RARE and extremely desirable Portuguese colonial issue that represents only the second we have offered in recent memory. Surfaces are bright and seem original but for an unnatural gloss in the fields at certain angles. A bold strike offers full detail, and preservation is overall satisfactory considering the dearth of survivors with worse problems. Sure to be cherished by a diligent and advanced specialist." This type was struck 1945, 1948 and 1951; the other dates are common.
