Stack's Bowers April 2021 Hong Kong sale, lot 53485

This specimen was lot 53485 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Tibet. Sho, Year 60 (1795). PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Variety with 30 beads on obverse. This nice wholesome survivor exhibits a decent strike with nearly full details save for a couple of minor areas of flatness displaying light attractive gray tone with richer coloration near the rims adding to its pleasing appearance." This type was struck in the last years of Qian Long's reign, years 58-60.
