This specimen was lot 1231 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "TIBET: Dao Guang, 1820-1850, AR sho, year 2 (1822), "chan" complete in legend, PCGS graded VF35." This type was struck years 1 thru 4 and 15-16. This example realized sixteen times the catalog value.
