This specimen was lot 53492 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $15,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Tibet. Sho, Year 15 (1835). PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Tied for finest certified with four other examples on the PCGS population report. This rather handsome survivor displays light signs of handling consistent for the grade with bold devices and lovely rich mottled patina adding to its originality and overall pleasing appearance sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters." This type is listed for years 1 thru 4 and 15-16 (1821-24, 1835-36).
