This specimen was lot 53507 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Tibet. Tangka, ND (1910). PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. "Square in square" variety. Well struck in high relief; reverse slightly off center, and lightly toned with good contrast." One srang = 6-2/3 tangka = 10 sho. This type was struck for presentation to the monks in the various lamaseries. This example realized 26 times the catalog value.
