Thorn 1666-HDL ducat Fr-60
This specimen was lot 1088 in CNG Triton XXIX (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $45,937.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND, Monarchy. Jan II Kazimierz. 1648-1668. AV Dukat. Toruń (Thorn) mint. Dated 1666 HD L. Crowned, draped, and collared bust right / Coat-of-arms supported by angel with wings spread. In NGC encapsulation 8414605-002, graded MS 62. Very rare. Top Pop." This type was struck 1649-61, 1666-67, and all dates are rare. Thorn, a German city on the Vistula river in Poland, issued an extensive series of gold coins.
