This specimen was lot 2700 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,347 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Tassarolo, Filippo Spinola, 1616-1688. Tallero 1640, Selten. Sehr schön. (Italy, marquisate of Tassarolo, Philip Spinola, 1616-88, tallero of 1640. Rare, Very fine.)"

Tassarolo is a tiny region in Genoa, today claiming less than a thousand souls. This tallero or scudo was struck 1639, 1640 and 1642 and is rare.
