This specimen was lot 52568 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Szechuan-Shensi Soviet. 200 Cash, 1933. PCGS FINE-12 Gold Shield. Variety with "200" retrograde. Always encountered in lower grades and quite crude, this pleasing example features a very clear hammer and sickle as well as the reversed denomination." Except for the fact that they eventually won out and conquered all of China, the communists in the early thirties were merely one of many bandit gangs vying for power. This type was struck in many varieties.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
