This specimen was lot 71671 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Franc, 1921-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. KM-24. A highly lustrous Gem quality Franc with gorgeous multicolored toning." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1874-1967. The design is still in use today tho the coin is now copper-nickel. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French franc of 1866-1920. This date is common. Prior to confederation in 1850, each Swiss canton issued its own coins.

Recorded mintage: 3,800,000 + specimens, a common date for the period.

Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
