Sincona sale 83, lot 5251

This specimen was lot 5251 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$241 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND, 10 Rappen 1894 B, Bern. NGC MS66. Prachtexemplar. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar. (Cabinet piece, Finest certified by NGC.)" The SCWC records the 1894 as a scarce date for the five and ten rappen. The type was struck 1879-2015 without change.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000.

Specification: 3 g, copper-nickel, 19.15 mm diameter.
