This specimen was lot 39740 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it did not sell. This specimen was offered again as lot 75786 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it still did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 5 Rappen, 1883-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-63. Appears to be an off-metal strike in bronze." The type was struck with a few interruptions 1879-1980 without change.

Recorded mintage: 3,000,000, a common date for the period.

Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 17.15 mm diameter, plain edge; this specimen bronze.
