This specimen was lot 33867 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "Confederation 10 Rappen 1882-B MS67 NGC, Bern mint. A glimmering gem of the type, seldom accounted finer, and the highest graded example in the NGC census." This type was struck 1879-2015 without change. The 1882 is not rare but more recent issues, minted in larger quantity and extensively saved, are much cheaper.
Recorded mintage: 3,000,000, a better date but not rare.
Specification: 3 g, copper-nickel, 19.15 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 27.
