Sincona sale 64, lot 3849

This specimen was lot 3849 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$376 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Confederation | misc, 1 Rappen 1855 B, Bern. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Swiss confederation, rappen of 1855, Bern mint. Very rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1850-1900 and this is a rare date. A slightly lighter version (KM 3.2) was struck 1902-41.

Recorded mintage: 500,000.
