This specimen was lot 74669 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1000 Kronor, 1997-B. Eskilstuna (Royal Swedish) Mint. Carl XVI Gustaf. NGC MS-68. Commemorating the 600th Anniversary of the Kalmar Union. A stunning example, this specimen presents portraits of the king and queen set apart from the mirrored fields with a frosty overall appearance." Wikipedia comments,

"The Kalmar Union was a personal union in Scandinavia, agreed at Kalmar in Sweden as designed by widowed Queen Margaret of Norway and Sweden. From 1397 to 1523, it joined under a single monarch the three kingdoms of Denmark, Sweden (then including much of present-day Finland), and Norway, together with Norway's overseas colonies (then including Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Northern Isles of Orkney and Shetland)."
