This specimen was lot 31033 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,586.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar II gold 5 Kronor 1882-EB, MS67 NGC. A stunning example with pristine surfaces and gleaming mint brilliance. Easily the finest we have seen for this date and unquestionably among the finest known. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman / B.G. Johnson." This type was minted 1881-86, 1894 and 1899. It is not rare. The "LA" (or "L.A." or "LA.") below the bust stands for Lea Ahlborn (1826-97), one of the first women to obtain an engraver's post in any mint.
