This specimen was lot 31018 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar II 25 Ore 1877-EB, MS66 NGC. A superb coin with reflective surfaces and aged gray patina, highly appealing. A scarce date and very possibly the finest example extant. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman / B.G. Johnson." This type was minted 1874-78. This date is fairly common in circulated condition.

Recorded mintage: 894,000.

Specification: 2.42 g, 0.600 fine silver, 17 mm diameter.
