This specimen was lot 25172 in Heritage sale 3016 (Orlando, FL, January 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl XV gold Carolin - 10 Francs 1868, MS66 NGC. A superb Gem for this short lived series." This carolin, struck to the standard of a French ten francs d'or, superseded the gold ducat struck prior to 1868. The type was struck 1868-72 but was replaced by the gold ten kronor in the reform of 1873.
