Sweden 1827 1/2 skilling
This specimen was lot 11421 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €264 (about US$275). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/2 Skilling, 1827. Avesta Mint. Karl XIV Johan. NGC MS-63 Brown. Variation with SKIL- - LING. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." During this reign, one riksdaler = 48 skilling. This type was struck 1819-30 and accompanied a quarter skilling and one skilling. This date also comes with the denomination spelled without dashes and is scarce thus. The denomination was terminated in 1833.
