This specimen was lot 3008 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/3 Riksdaler, 1800-OL. Lightly toned, sharply struck, and very attractive. NGC MS-63." Collecting Swedish coins is complicated by the multiple currency reforms the country underwent, beginning in 1830. For some reason, this type is omitted from the current edition of the SCWC altho the similar one sixth riksdaler is listed for 1800-09.
Recorded mintage: 113,244.
Specification: 9.79 g, 0.878 fine silver, 30 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-551; AAH-33.
