The first specimen was lot 10736 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $176. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Skilling, 1802. NGC MS-63 BN." The second specimen was lot 31795 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[2] noted, "Gustaf IV Adolf Skilling 1802, MS64 Red Brown NGC. Struck over an earlier coin, possibly a 1748 2 Ore, with quite a bit of the original details visible. An attractive large copper type with luster in the obverse legends." The second specimen was offered again as lot 49444 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $504. Prior to the reform of 1830, 48 skilling = one riksdaler. This type of 1802-05 is noted as struck over older two öre pieces. The denomination was terminated in 1855.
