from the Stack's Bowers 2017 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72988

This specimen was lot 72988 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Mark, 1696. NGC MS-61. Nice strike with attractive luster." This type, struck 1683-97, is the most common of this denomination struck during the seventeenth century. It is, however, scarcer than the concurrent two mark or four mark.
