This specimen was lot 31760 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl XI 2 Ore 1662-KM, VF35 BN NGC. Attractive medium brown surfaces with some light porosity, a very scarce large copper type. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." In the late seventeenth century, the Swedish mints oscillated between striking this denomination in copper (shown here) and billon (KM 241). This type of 1661-65 is common in circulated condition but scarce nice. Eight öre made a mark.
