Goldberg sale 103, lot 3141

This specimen was lot 3141 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $2,291.12. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Straits Settlements. Cent, 1906. Edward VII. Scarce date. Attractive glossy mint luster. NGC graded MS-62 Brown." The type was struck in 1903-08 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and is scarce in nice condition despite the large mintage.

Recorded mintage: 7,504,000, a better date.

Specification: 9.3 g, bronze, 29 mm diameter, reeded edge.
