This specimen was lot 1806 in Sincona sale 73 (Zürich, November 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. Edward VII. 1902-1910. 20 Cents 1902. Vorzüglich. Feine Patina. (Straits Settlements, Edward VII, 1902-10, twenty cents of 1902. Extremely fine, Nicely toned.)"
This type was struck 1902-03 only. It was reduced to 0.600 fine in 1910, then 0.400 fine in 1918. The Straits Settlements began as a miscellaneous group of trading stations in Southeast Asia and gradually developed into what is now Malaya and Singapore.
Recorded mintage: 1,105,000 + proofs.
Specification: 5.43 g, 0.800 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, this specimen 5.41 g.
