This specimen was lot 76321 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 20 Cents, 1897. London Mint. Victoria. NGC AU-58." The type was struck in 1871-1901 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and is scarce in nice condition despite the large mintage. This is a better date but not rare.
Recorded mintage: 150,000.
Specification: 5.43 g, 0.800 fine silver, .139 troy oz ASW, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM-12; Prid-63.
