This specimen was lot 39702 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. Cent, 1876. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS AU-55." The type was struck in 1872-78 and 1883 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and this date is scarce. It was converted to bronze for the 1884 issue (KM 9a) and given a reeded edge for the 1889 issue (KM 16).
Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.
Specification: 9.33 g, copper, 29 mm diameter, plain edge.
