This specimen was lot 75758 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. Cent, 1877. Calcutta Mint. Victoria. PCGS AU-53." The type was struck in 1872-78 and 1883 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and is scarce in nice condition. It was converted to bronze for the 1884 issue (KM 9a) and given a reeded edge for the 1889 issue (KM 16).
