This specimen was part of lot 40785 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 20 Cents, 1874-H. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Lustrous with deep toning." The type was struck in 1871-1901 and many dates are common but this one is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 45,000.
Specification: 5.43 g, 0.800 fine silver, .139 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
