This specimen was lot 20664 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $1,740. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Stolberg-Stolberg. Reichstaler (Taler), 1706-IIG. Christof Friedrich and Jost Christian. NGC MS-62. An immensely attractive taler featuring a majestic stag and a complex coat-of-arms, along with a fairly solid strike and charming cabinet tone. Seldom encountered this attractive, the present piece represents the first such example which we have offered. Ex: Künker (2/2009) Lot #658." A scarce one year type issued to promote the local silver mines.
