Künker Auction 425, lot 2366

This specimen was lot 2366 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,399 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · STOLBERG-STOLBERG, GRAFSCHAFT (DIE JÜNGERE STOLBERGER HAUPTLINIE AUS DER TEILUNG VON 1645) Johann Martin, 1638-1669. Reichstaler 1655, Rottleberode. RR Min. Reste von Zaponlack, vorzüglich. (Germany, county of Stolberg-Stolberg, John Martin, 1638-69, thaler of 1655, Rottleberode mint. Lacquer residue, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1645-55, 1660, 1663 but is rare despite the many dates.
